“Memnu Arapça: Yasaklı Kelime Oyunu” Üzerine Bir İnceleme
Abstract
AbstractStudents Emrah Dilek and Mahmut Kalkan from Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of Arabic Language Teaching, developed a vocabulary-based educational tool titled Memnu: The Forbidden Arabic Word Game to support Arabic language learning. The game consists of 72 double-sided cards (a total of 144 word cards). Each card includes six words—one target word and five forbidden words that cannot be used in the description process. Additionally, an instruction manual is provided, detailing the game’s functions, rules, and procedures. The game aims to enhance communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through the group teaching technique, while also fostering mental flexibility. Designed at the B1 proficiency level and aligned with middle and high school curricula, the Memnu Forbidden Arabic Word Game seeks to make the Arabic learning process more engaging and to promote the development of speaking skills. This educational tool is beneficial not only for teachers and students specializing in Arabic language education but also for anyone interested in learning Arabic. Moreover, this review article intends to serve as a guide for readers seeking insights into the game’s structure and pedagogical value.
